PRESS RELEASE: Equality Florida to Honor Regions Bank, Tampa City Councilman at Annual Gala
Regions Bank will receive the Corporate Voice for Equality Award and Tampa CIty Councilman Guido Maniscalco will receive the Ally for Equality Award at Equality Florida's Tampa Gala
Committed to building a more equal Florida for us all, Regions Bank has been a supporter of Equality Florida for the past 5 years, as a participant in their events, an Equality Means Business advisory board member, and a generous sponsor. To demonstrate its understanding of the unique needs of LGBTQ people, Regions Bank features an entire section on its website that provides support and financial guidance for the LGBTQ community. Additionally, the bank recognizes Pride month in June and participates in other LGBTQ events throughout the state. Equality Florida is grateful that Regions Bank is taking a lead in workplace equality and is proud to honor the bank with this recognition.
Councilman Maniscalco was born and raised in Tampa and is the son of Cuban and Italian immigrants. He was elected to the Tampa City Council in 2015 and has been a champion of progressive issues for the people of Tampa. In 2017, the Councilman helped pass the ban on conversion therapy for minors in Tampa, protecting LGBTQ young people from this discredited and harmful practice. Councilman Maniscalco was a Tampa Business Journal Business of Pride Allies honoree and has served as an Honorary Host of the Equality Florida Tampa Gala. Equality Florida is honored to recognize such a dedicated ally in public service.
The 2018 Equality Florida Tampa Gala will take place on February 24th from 7:30 - 11 p.m. at TPepin Hospitality Centre located at 4121 N. 50th St. in Tampa, Florida. For more information about the event, please visit equalityflorida.org/tampagala.
