Candidate Spotlight: Eugene Flinn

As the election nears, we will be spotlighting candidates throughout the state in key races. These are races that are pivotal in changing the climate in a community, or holding on to important victories.

The first in our series is Eugene Flinn running for Miami-Dade County Commission, District 8. The seat is being vacated by the popular Katy Sorenson, a leading progressive voice on the County Commission. Sorenson has endorsed Flinn for the County Commission seat.
Sorenson has been one of our strongest champions on the Miami-Dade County Commission and this seat should be held by someone who shares those values. Flinn's opponent, is the former president of Florida Right to Life, a far right group that opposes all abortions and embryonic stem cell research.
Eugene Flinn received a 100% rating on the Equality Florida questionnaire and has been endorsed by the Equality Florida Action PAC. His other endorsements include The Miami Herald, United Teachers of Dade, AFL-CIO and the Police Benevolent Association.
