DC to Vote on Same-Sex marriage today

Today D.C. is expected to vote on same-sex marriage.

On December 1 the city council overwhelmingly passed the measure in a first reading. If passed today, the measure will go to Mayor Adrian Fenty who has said he will sign the bill. The measure would then go to Congress for a 30-day review period. Congress does have the ability to overturn laws created by the District city council, but it is widely considered the Democratic majority will not block the bill.
