Equality Florida on Sunday held its biggest fundraising event of the year, the 2013 Broward Gala, this year with 500 in attendance at Hyatt Regency Pier 66 hotel in Fort Lauderdale.
Honorees:
Broward Schools, which this year introduced an expansive training program to keep safe the district’s gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender and questioning students.

State Sen. Eleanor Sobel, D-Hollywood, received Equality Florida's Voice for Equality award, for her work attempting to establish a statewide domestic partners registry.
